Description
The project's goal is to contribute to reducing rural poverty among producers and entrepreneurs in the context of economic recovery in the provinces of Esmeraldas, Manabí, Santo Domingo, Carchi, Imbabura, Napo, and Sucumbíos. It is intended to improve the income and livelihoods of targeted producers, entrepreneurs, and rural employees by improving the competitiveness of their agribusinesses and providing adequate employment opportunities. This objective is relevant to IFAD's Strategic Framework 2016-2025 and, in particular, to the strategic objective "Increasing the benefits of market participation for the rural poor," especially in the area of "Diversified rural enterprises and employment opportunities." It also contributes to achieving the objectives of IFAD's Country Strategy Note in Ecuador 2022-2024: SO1. Increase employment opportunities for poor and vulnerable rural families and marginalized groups, and SO2. Promote the competitiveness, resilience, and sustainability of rural producers and MSMEs and their connection to value chains under a circular economy approach.
