Description
The Rural Microfinance Fund (RMF) is the instrument provided by the Colombian State to expand financial services to rural areas, particularly those where the financial supply is nonexistent, unstable, or insufficient, through Microfinance Intermediaries (MFIs). The Fund refers to "rural microfinance" as financial services such as microcredit, microinsurance, microleasing, microfactoring, microguarantees, and microsavings, provided to small producers, as defined in Article 11 of Law 1731 of 2014, and to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises operating in the rural sector.
