Description
The Colombian Low-Carbon and Climate-Resilient Development Strategy (ECDBC) is an intersectoral planning and implementation process for the comprehensive management of climate change in Colombia, led by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development. It seeks to strengthen the capacities of ministries and sectors to meet national climate goals—spanning the short, medium, and long term—and to advance toward carbon neutrality and climate resilience. The strategy promotes the integration of climate action into sectoral and territorial planning, inter-institutional coordination, innovation and technological development, institutional strengthening, and mechanisms for financing, monitoring, reporting, and tracking. Its evolution aligns instruments such as Sectoral Action Plans, the Nationally Determined Contribution, Sectoral Comprehensive Climate Change Management Plans, and Colombia’s Long-Term Climate Strategy.
